Gut Microbiome Testing

Personalized gut health starts here

Your gut microbiome is the foundation of your overall health, influencing everything from digestion and immunity to mood and energy. Trillions of bacteria in your gut work together to break down food, fight off pathogens, and even communicate with your brain. When this delicate balance is off, it can lead to bloating, fatigue, or worse.

By understanding and nurturing your unique microbiome, you can unlock a healthier, more vibrant you – naturally and sustainably.

Why it Matters

Your gut microbiome—the trillions of bacteria, fungi, and other microbes living in your digestive system—plays a vital role in keeping you healthy. Here’s how it impacts your body:

  • Digestion and Nutrient Absorption: Your gut bacteria break down foods your body can’t digest on its own, like fiber, turning them into nutrients and energy. They also help absorb vitamins like B12 and K, which are essential for your daily function.

  • Immune System Support: About 70% of your immune system is in your gut. A balanced microbiome trains your immune cells to fight off harmful germs while avoiding overreactions that can lead to allergies or inflammation.

  • Weight and Metabolism: The mix of bacteria in your gut can affect how your body stores fat, processes sugar, and regulates hunger hormones. An imbalance might make it harder to maintain a healthy weight.

  • Brain and Mood: Known as the ‘gut-brain axis,’ your microbiome produces chemicals like serotonin—over 90% of which is made in the gut—that influence mood, stress, and even sleep. An unhealthy gut has been linked to anxiety and depression.

  • Inflammation and Chronic Conditions: A diverse microbiome helps keep inflammation in check. When it’s out of balance, it can contribute to issues like irritable bowel syndrome, diabetes, or heart disease.

  • Protection Against Harmful Bacteria: Good gut bacteria crowd out pathogens, like those that cause food poisoning, acting as a natural defense system.

In short, a healthy gut microbiome keeps your body running smoothly, while an imbalance can throw things off. That’s why understanding and supporting it can make a big difference in how you feel every day.

Alpha Diversity score measures the variety and abundance of microbial species in your gut. Higher scores indicate a more diverse microbiome, often linked to better health, while lower scores may suggest imbalances.

Gut health score: is a measure of your alpha diversity score, your butyrate producers (a beneficial nutrient bacteria produce) and how you compare to a healthy reference population
